14 Years Printing Charlotte's Soul

14 years. One city. Thousands of stories walking around in shirts. PrintBliss isn't just a print shop — it's where Charlotte comes to say who it is.

Charlotte is growing fast. Cranes everywhere. New condos where old neighborhoods used to breathe. And somewhere in all that change, people are trying to hold onto who they are — or announce who they're becoming. That's where PrintBliss comes in.

Samir Hamid was born here. Palestinian-American, Charlotte-raised, watching this city become something new while still carrying everything it used to be. He didn't open a print shop. He opened a platform. A place where a nonprofit on the west side could look as official as any brand downtown. Where a high school coach could give his kids something to wear that means: we belong to something.

The shirt isn't the product. The story is. The shirt is just how it travels — on a back, at a game, on a stage, at a cookout. PrintBliss has been deploying Charlotte's stories for 14 years. And the city is still just getting started.

I was born in Charlotte. Grew up here. Watched this city change from something quiet into something that the whole country is paying attention to now. And when I started PrintBliss, I wasn't thinking about shirts. I was thinking about stories. Because every community in this city — every school, every block, every restaurant that's been here 20 years — they all have something to say. My job is to help them say it. Not with words. With what they wear. When a kid puts on a shirt from his youth league, or a nonprofit hands out tees at a community event, something activates. They're not just wearing fabric. They're wearing proof. Proof that they exist. Proof that they matter. That's what we do at PrintBliss. We've been doing it for 14 years. And Charlotte keeps giving us more stories to tell.

About This Story

PrintBliss is Charlotte's custom apparel shop — 14 years rooted in one of the fastest-growing cities in the Southeast, built by Palestinian-American founder Samir Hamid with a single mission: help Charlotte's storytellers wear their story. From nonprofits and schools to musicians, athletes, and community organizers, PrintBliss has served the full cross-section of a city in motion. Custom apparel, screen printing, and embroidery — not as a service, but as a platform for identity, belonging, and community voice. This is where Charlotte comes to say who it is.
